Switzer Learning Center is a nonpublic school
certified by the California Department of Education
(CDE) to provide kindergarten through twelfth grade
special education instruction and related services.
Our general program of instruction includes:

Classes consistent with CDE and public school
district standards for course of study;

State Board of Education adopted core curriculum;
·
Supplemental modified instructional materials;
·
Corrective reading program;
·
Computer assisted instruction in computer lab;
·
Enrichment classes (art, drama, vocal and
instrumental music, etc.);
·
Extracurricular activities (intramural sports,
clubs, student council, fieldtrips, etc.);
·
Transitions and vocational skills training;
·
Opportunities for dual enrollment at home school,
Southern California Regional Occupational Center or
community college;
·
IEP driven instruction to achieve annual goals and
objectives;
·
school-wide behavioral program allowing students to
earn points every period to gain greater levels of
privilege;
·
Attendance incentive program rewarding students for
good attendance;
·
Therapeutic approach to teach self-acceptance,
tolerance, communication, interpersonal problem
solving, emotion management, social skills and
appropriate behavior.
