Serving Students throughout Los Angeles County

Special education eligibility and nonpublic school placement are determined by each child’s Individual Educational Plan (IEP).

Parents and caregivers are welcome to schedule an appointment to visit Switzer Learning Center and meet with staff without obligation of enrollment.

Who We Serve

Students attending Switzer Learning Center come from multiple school districts in and around Los Angeles County. Switzer Learning Center is certified by the California Department of Education to provide special education and related services for students with the following IEP eligibility: Specific Learning Disability (SLD), Emotional Disturbance (ED), Other Health Impairment (OHI), ADD/ADHD, Speech and Language Impairment (SLI) and Autism (AUT), Asperger’s syndrome or other neurodevelopment disabilities.

Students are referred to Switzer Learning Center from their home school district after their IEP team has determined that public schools can no longer can meet the student’s needs. Federal and state law mandates that a free and appropriate public education be available to all children at no cost to parents.

In some cases, parents may also choose to enroll their children directly as private pay students. If you're interested in this option, we conduct a thorough evaluation and needs assessment at Switzer Learning Center to ensure your child receives the best support.
